Tables and chairs are the biggest line on most party-hire quotes simply because you need so many of them. The choice comes down to the kind of event: long trestle tables for a casual or family-style meal, round tables for a seated dinner where people talk across the table.

Tables

Table (Bargain Party Hire, Sydney)Price
180cm large round table$20
5ft round table$15
Large trestle table (2.4 m)$12
Small trestle table (1.8 m)$10
90cm cafe table$15

From Bargain Party Hire’s table prices, read 3 October 2026.

Round tables suit a formal dinner and make seating plans easy to read. Trestle tables are cheaper and more flexible: push them end to end for a long banquet, or line them up for a buffet. Cafe and bar tables give a standing crowd somewhere to put a glass.

Chairs

Chair (Bargain Party Hire, Sydney)ListedSale price on 3 Oct
White pipee plastic chair$2.50$1.60
Black gladiator chair$3$3
Gold Chanel chair$7$4
White Tiffany chair$7.50$5
Clear Tiffany chair$9$5
Padded bar stool$10$10

From Bargain Party Hire’s chair prices, read 3 October 2026. Several chairs were on sale that day.

The price climbs with the look. Plastic chairs are the cheapest and fine for a backyard. Tiffany and Chanel chairs, the slim gold, white or clear designs seen at weddings, cost more and usually come with a seat cushion. Prices on the day we checked showed several chairs on sale, so it pays to ask.

How many?

One chair a guest, plus a few spare for the bridal or VIP table, the band and the inevitable latecomer. For tables, count the seats each table takes on the hire company's own listing; it varies with the table size and how closely you squeeze people in.

What to ask

  • Is the price per day or per event, and is delivery extra?
  • Are chairs delivered stacked, or set out for you?
  • Is there a charge for chairs returned dirty or damaged?
